SMT MATERIAL INTELLIGENCE

Smart Automation Equipment

A smarter material flow. A more connected SMT line.

Reel counts, storage and splicing connect the SMT material flow, now extended into AGV transport and fully automatic chip programming—bringing clearer identification and traceable handoffs to high-mix production.

CONNECTED MATERIAL HANDLING

Before a component reaches the board, its journey should be clear.

Material preparation is part of process control. Non-destructive reel counting, guided storage and automated splicing connect the steps leading up to placement.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE COUNTING

X-ray Reel Counter

See the stock. Keep the reels sealed.

X-ray imaging enables component reels to be counted without opening the packaging. The resulting counts can support inventory checks and material reconciliation ahead of production.

WHY IT MATTERS

Non-destructive counting reduces unnecessary handling of moisture-sensitive and miniature components, while making reel quantities easier to verify and record.

GUIDED MATERIAL STORAGE

Smart Material Rack

From searching for material to guided retrieval.

Connected rack locations, barcode identification and pick-to-light guidance help teams find the right reel and return it to the right position. FIFO handling can be supported through system checks.

WHY IT MATTERS

Reel ID, operator, location and issue time can be associated in the material-management workflow, creating a clearer chain of custody for production traceability.

AUTOMATED REPLENISHMENT

Automatic Reel Splicer

Keep replenishment moving, with each handoff in view.

Vision-assisted alignment and automated splicing support the connection of successive component tapes. Scan-based checks can help verify reel identity and orientation before materials return to the line.

WHY IT MATTERS

Linking the reel batch, operator and splice time to the production record makes replenishment easier to review and helps reduce avoidable interruptions.

AUTONOMOUS MATERIAL TRANSPORT

PCBA Line AGV Cart

Let materials travel from inbound to outbound on their own.

A self-guided transport unit for PCBA production, docking to ±10mm with QR-code or SLAM navigation and using lidar plus a bumper to work safely alongside people.

WHY IT MATTERS

Linked to MES and WMS, the AGV carries reels, work-in-progress and finished boards between the SMT floor, assembly and a multi-level warehouse, cutting waiting downtime and handling damage.

AUTOMATED CHIP PROGRAMMING

Chip Programmer

Four nozzles program, inspect and tape.

The Anke IPS5200S four-nozzle offline chip programmer won an SMT Industry VA Vision Award; four AP8000 cores expand to 32/64 stations for 3500 UPH at ±0.01mm.

WHY IT MATTERS

Tray, tape and tube feeding run through erase, program, verify, inspect, sort, mark and tape in one machine; a changeover needs only a project file and takes 10 minutes.
